Imagine the benefits of being more assertive, relaxed and naturally confident
Confidence is an underlying belief that you are a capable and worthwhile person and that you can successfully meet the challenges that life sends you.
Why do we lack confidence? For some, specific situations are a problem such as going to an interview, taking an exam, or chatting to people in a social setting. This may be because you lack experience. If you have never done any public speaking, you may feel concerned about standing up in front of other people. Perhaps you’ve had a previous bad experience in the past. If your last relationship ended badly, you might find it difficult to start a new one. Low confidence can be a general feeling of ‘not being good enough’, especially if your efforts have been criticised or undermined or you have felt ineffective. This knocks your self-esteem. The good news is confidence issues respond well to psychological therapies.
Lack of confidence and low self-esteem are very common
You may be surprised to learn that most people struggle with confidence at some point in their lives. Maybe you have always lacked confidence or find your confidence has faded:
“I used to earn a living as an actor and I’ve been in a few TV shows. Over the last few years, I feel my self-confidence has been worn away to the point I can’t even go to an audition. I’d love to get back on stage but I feel shy and apologetic when I walk into a room. I want to find the confidence I had 5 years ago”
Confidence issues hit even the most experienced performers and sports people. Many professionals suffer from imposter syndrome, thinking they are a fraud and will be caught out, despite being very able. I help you strengthen your self-esteem so you begin to enjoy your life without the nagging self-doubt and worry about what other people think of you, how you look, or whether you did or said the right things.
“I am amazed at how quickly I saw results. I can honestly say it has changed my life. I feel I am the person I always wanted to be – minus the barriers I had”
Learn to stop worrying and over-analyzing all the time
I show you how to stop any limiting behaviour so you feel comfortable in social groups, or feel confident speaking at meetings or giving presentations. You may wish to overcome shyness or learn how to cope with redness and flushing, jelly legs, palpitations or other nervous physical symptoms, and I help you make that happen.
“I think the BWRT has made a big difference! I feel very positive about it! Thank you!”
True confidence is knowing that whatever happens, you will be ok, and we work on achieving this for you
As a youngster, I was extremely shy but I eventually managed to overcome my fears and develop enough confidence to win prizes for public speaking. I have many years’ experience presenting at conferences and workshops across Europe, delivering training courses and have extensive media training for TV and radio work. I draw on this experience alongside my psychological skills and knowledge to help you.
“I just wanted to give you an update as to how I have got on! It’s day 3 since the therapy and it all still feels really strange. I keep thinking it just can’t be true and I’m going to switch back to what I felt before. I can describe it to be that I’ve had a positive disconnection from the problems, it’s so bizarre! I am so happy with the results”
